Whatever your religion, spirituality or opinions, most of us can agree there is some sort of unseen force in the world around us and so many facets of this force that we can explore, like all changes in life, this isn’t easy. In order to live a more conscious, awakened life, here is some advice for the curvy road ahead.
1. Growth
Stay open to what is meant to come and what is meant to go. Learn new things and release old beliefs and habits along the way. Spirituality is a journey of self-growth.
2. Focus
A spiritual journey is not a race and don’t compare yourself with others along the way. Focus on your experiences, emotions and learning and focus on what’s inside.
3. Explore
Explore everything you experience and remind yourself that you are allowed to have an array of emotions.
4. Evolve
The whole point of self-development and spiritual expansion is to evolve as a person. This means that along the way, you are allowed to change. Change your opinions and your beliefs, and the way you spend your time and energy. In the end, change is evidence of growth.
5. Discover
Like-minded souls will begin to show up. You’ll discover people who read the same books, try out the same classes, or follow the same teachers that you do. Talk to them, spend time with them and support each other. Acknowledge them when your spiritual paths cross. They all have something to offer you.
6. Understanding
Spirituality is simply about developing a deep understanding of yourself. With this deeper understanding comes great compassion, joy, kindness, and gratitude. When you see the lesson in every experience, the story in every emotion you feel, you begin to become aware of the lessons hiding in our everyday experience. You become responsible for being the best version of you.
Tips for improving your reading
Don’t show up to your reading intoxicated or even hung over. You may be nervous about your reading but alcohol and recreational drugs can lower your vibration and negatively affect your energetic fields.
Be relaxed or get into a relaxed state. Whether it is nerves or you are frazzled over some road rage getting to the reading, it will affect you and the reading. Spending 15 minutes before the reading to relax and wind down will make all the difference.
Don’t set yourself up for disappointment or make deals with your spirits. It will work against you. If you ask your loved one in spirit that you trust that they are connecting as long as they say a certain thing, you’re already setting yourself up for failure. You may not always hear what you want to hear.
Don’t feed information. if you say it, you are not able to receive it and therefore jeopardising validation that comes from a reading. It’s healthy to participate and confirm messages that you have been given.
Don’t force fit messages to make things fit. Messages may not make sense yet, but sooner or later they will become clear. If messages are really not making any sense, stop nodding and agreeing, say something. Also, don’t be in denial when messages are true even if you don’t want to hear it. Ask to move on to another topic. Keep honesty in your words and in your body language.
Keep the energy flowing. If it is not flowing, it’s like driving a car with flat tyres. You can participate and interact without feeding or force fitting information.
Eliminate distractions and focus on the task at hand. Silence your phone, ignore your text messages and calls. If your reading is over the internet, don’t have the kids running around the room. Have a strong wifi signal and fast connection.
Keep an open mind. Look for real compelling and convincing evidence that comes through. If some of it is really compelling, accurate and undeniable, give benefit of the doubt for the other messages that you maybe a little unsure about or are a little more vague.
Take notes or record your conversation. You won’t always remember everything, and things can be confirmed at a later date.
Enjoy your reading. The experience of a powerful reading should feel like a conversation with a friend that you don’t want to end. Participate, ask questions, get excited and have fun.
Advice to those who are a little skeptical.
Go with an open mind and see what materialises from it.
